We offer full training in the use of the equipment to produce the talking newspaper.
Roles:
Newsreaders: Newsreaders do just that. They read the news. You will have a choice of either reading from a screen or from a printed page. We can ensure text is adequately sized if you have difficulty seeing text. We can also utilise screen reading technology.
Your role will be to read the news in short segments, one story at a time. It is not LIVE so don’t panic. All programmes are pre recorded and we have plenty of time to get it right.
You will be working at a computer and speaking into a microphone using headphones. All audio can be adjusted for your comfort.
Your final product may be edited to scratch out pauses, noises, ums and ahs, etc. It will sound great.
If you think this is for you then please get in touch.
Sound Editor:
The sound editor role involves the use of professional studio quality sound equipment. It is standard 2024 industry equipment used by many radio studios and news outlets. Training will be provided and you have plenty of time to get it right. The training is not certified but it will stand you in good stead if applying for a role in the media industry. We have trained people who have gone on to work at some of the largest news outlets in the UK as well as media teams in the armed forces.
